💥 State FFA CDE contest at Tarleton State University 💥 City View FFA - Texas The Range Evaluation team braved the wet weather on Thursday to qualified for NATIONALS by being this years TEXAS FFA STATE CHAMPIONS!! This marks the second year in a row to compete at the National Land, Range and Homesite contest in Oklahoma City this next week. 💥 City View FFA Range Team 💥 🥇 Wichita District Range Champions 🥇 Area IV Range Champions 🥇 Texas FFA State Range Champions Proud to announce as well!!! 🥇State Champion Individual - Madelynn Hopkins 🥉 3rd place State Individual - Daniel Sawyer 11th place State Individual - Anthony Nguyen Team members: Camden Walser and Jacoby Benham Coach/Advisor: Joshua Hopkins These students have worked hard and been dedicated through heat, cold, rain, mud, bug bites, ticks, snakes, storms to achieve a great success that only happens to one team a year! The Environmental & Natural Resources team had a good day where they achieved the following results. 🥇 Wichita District Champions 🥈 2nd in Area IV 28th best team in the State What a great job by these three awesome seniors that represented our chapter well. ⭐️ Grayson Saenz ⭐️ Isaac Paredon ⭐️ Jacoby Benham Coach/Advisor: Joshua Hopkins 💫 Anna Tillman 💫 Jacoby Benham Shout out to these two students that represent what we should all be about and more often than not, get overlooked because they don’t show up in the score sheet. I am so impressed with both of these students for helping a fellow friend and teammate when they needed them and not asking for anything in return. People notice including the NRCS as they awarded these two with a small gift and note because of the great human beings that they are!!! This makes me so proud!!! Special Thanks to John Powell and family, Judith Riola, and the Sawyer Family for providing a place for these students to practice their skills leading up to the state competition. Please congratulate these awesome students and the character they have to be great. Good luck at Nationals!!!

In amongst the craziness of running all over Texas for CDEs, our students got to take a little breather and make a trip right next door, over to lowa Park, for our Wichita District Convention, Degree Check, and Speaking Contest! We got to celebrate our success this past year by collecting our banners that we have accumulated throughout this semester! Audrey Graham and Lillian Klein also represented our chapter by running for District office. After going through the selection process, Audrey secured the District Vice President spot and Lillian sealed the deal by getting the District Secretary! Madelynn Hopkins also was heavily involved throughout District Convention today, securing a 2nd place finish to advance to Area in Soil Stewardship Speaking, placing 3rd in Extemporaneous Speaking, and putting up some competitive competition by running for an Area office position! Madelynn also obtained the title of Star Lonestar for Wichita District! To round out District Convention, we had 12 students advance to Area striving to receive their Lonestar degree, which is the highest degree a student can earn at the state level in FFA! These students included Lillian Klein, Addison Goodwin, Haley Moon, Kasidee Regouby, Breanna Kuhlmann, Addison Mccarty, Jantzen Lindsey, Daniel Sawyer, Paxton Hollemans, Anna Tillman, Karley Ammons, and Madelynn Hopkins. We are proud of all the hard work these kids put into all they do and can't wait to keep the momentum going! Now, onto State CDEs!💙

Students have been learning about baking with yeast and making pretzels and bread. Many of them get creative in what they come up with to incorporate those items into a dish.
