City View CTE is proud to introduce Mr. Rusty Brixey as our newest Agricultural Science Teacher and FFA Advisor for the 24-25 School year.
Mr. Brixey has been married to his wife, Jeanie, for three years and they have two children, Rylee and Hunter. They raise register and commercial Beefmaster cattle along with raising and marketing their own beef. He has a Masters of Animal Science in Animal Nutrition from Sul Ross State and Bachelors of Agriculture Education from West Texas A&M, and brings 8 years of teaching experience. He will be teaching Animal Science and Agriculture Business classes along with supervising LDE, CDE teams, and overseeing Animal Projects. When asked what his goal was for City View FFA he said, “ I hope to help the program grow wherever I can and I would like to see a registered and commercial show cattle program start.”

Cisco Career Development Event
City View FFA represent well at Cisco!
Giovanni Portillo was 9th high individual in the Range contest.
Madelynn Hopkins was 8th high individual in the Wildlife contest.
Shane Miller was 10th high individual in the Farm Business Management contest.
Congrats to these students.
Range, Wildlife, Farm Business Management and Agricultural Mechanics teams did a great job. Keep working and getting better!!


City View FFA Ag Pals visited our second grade classes today to teach a
little about agriculture. They loved learning and seeing their new strawberry plants.








Very Proud of the Culinary Team as we finally got the team results back!
We were the smallest school out of 44 teams across the entire state of Texas to compete in the team event and had only one practice with all 5 members. Adversity was so great for this and many people were amazed we even showed up to compete. Some schools have almost as many people in culinary as we do our entire high school. But, we finished 22nd in the state. I am thrilled at the talents and ability they showed under a ton of adversity while in Waco. Job well done: Chris, Dakota, Ava, Connor, and Aiden!










Spring Plant Sale is just around the corner!

Texas Farm and Ranch Expo CDE Contest
City View FFA members were able to finish out the busy week at Abilene with the Range Plant ID and Entomology contest.
Kannon Hopkins competed in the Ento contest. Glad to see young students wanting to take chances and learn.
Giovanni Portillo, Daniel Sawyer, Anthony Nguyen and Matias Portillo competed in the Range Plant ID contest where they continue to get better at identifying plants. Judging season is great way for students to learn information and then have to make decisions based off what they have learned. Keep up the good work and prepare for success!!!








Ag Mechanics show at the Texas Farm and Ranch Expo held in Abilene Tx
City View FFA Ag Mechanics Team finished the show season out on a high note with 4 blue ribbons and 1 red ribbon.
Torch Cart placed 1st in the Shop Equipment Class and shown by Matias Portillo!
Sheet Metal Rack placed 2nd in the Shop Equipment class and shown by Giovanni Portillo, Daniel Sawyer and Anthony Nguyen!
Jr FFA members: Kannon Hopkins, Dustie Powell and Jasper Johnson did an excellent job this year with their Hands Free Foot Vise.
Shayna Deane did a great job with her Jib Crane.
Madelynn Hopkins and senior Frank Ramos was able to finish out their show season with a fire pit they started at a build off in the fall.
The Jib Crane, Foot Vise and Sheet Metal Rack will be used in the Ag Shop for many years to come.

Possum Kingdom Land & Range Contest
City View FFA Range team competed at the first contest of the year in Albany.
Madelynn Hopkins tied for 4th high individual.
Team placed 6th as a team and members consisted of Giovanni Portillo, Anthony Nguyen, Matias Portillo, Kannon Hopkins, Dustie Powell and Madelynn Hopkins.
Great start to the judging season!!

Nursery and Floral Teams have a great first outing for this judging season!


FFA Dairy Cattle team competed today at Houston Stockshow CDE contest. It was challenging competition but good experience for all.

The City View FFA Ag Mechanics Marketplace Team was Reserve Division Wildlife Project behind the Grand Champion Overall Project! The "COLONEL" was truly a rank above the rest as it made the 7th overall protect and will sell as lot # 7 tomorrow at 12pm in the live @JAMShow Marketplace Auction! Congratulations to Sophomore Madelynn Hopkins & Senior Frank Ramos of the City View FFA Wildcard Outfitters!





Greenhouse Operations students are learning about plant cuttings and started their own in their own planters.




So proud of the accomplishments of our kids and our program! This says a lot to start a program from the ground floor and these kids are very serving and headed to state in 2 more events! Awesome 👏 Job!



The City View FFA Meats team competed at the San Angelo Stock Show Meats Evaluation Contest this morning! They 29th out of 57 teams with two second year members and a rookie in their first contest! Team members included: Christopher Daugherty, Audrey Graham, and Kolter Powell. Congratulations! 👏🎉

CTE Students and teachers are busy this weekend! FFA is competing in San Angelo & San Antonio Stock Show Meats and showing Barrows in San Antonio.
SkillsUSA students are competing in a Computer Building contest in Adlington.
